Josie Shaffer is a JD Candidate at the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Josie is University of Baltimore Law Review, Executive Editor. Her comment Demolition by Neglect: “Razing” the Bar to Prevent Mishandling of Historic Properties was selected for publication in the upcoming University of Baltimore Law Review, Volume 54.
She serves as the Orientation Programming Director for UBalt’s Student Bar Association She is UB LEADS Coordinator; UB LEADS - Peer Mentor; a member of Jewish Law Students Association; and the Women's Bar Association
Previously, she was a Senior Law Clerk in the Office of the Maryland Attorney General, Organized Crime Unit in Baltimore. She was also a Law Clerk in the Baltimore City Department of Law.
Josie is a Former Student Member of the Baltimore County Board of Education and was featured on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah during her tenure. She oversaw a two-million dollar budget as chair of the Facilities Student Advisory Subcommittee to give funding to facilities improvement projects across campus.
Josie received her undergraduate degree from University of Maryland, College Park, where she was the recipient of the Spirit of Maryland award for her student leadership and a member of the Maryland Medallion Society.
